Peter Tilton & Rebecca Brazier

Peter Tilton was born January 1642, at Lynn, Massachusetts. It may have been the refusal of his parents to have him baptized that led to his parents leaving Lynn for Gravesend, Long Island, New York.

Rebecca Brazier was born in 1648 in New Amsterdam. They married about 1664 at New York and had 11 children.

He was the first of his family to move to Monmouth County. He was active in public affairs and one of the largest landowners in Monmouth.

Peter died 15 December 1699 at Middletown, Monmouth Co. Rebecca died 10 months later.
